How are your meals in your country? How many meals you do?

Previously we learned about nouns here: Substantivos III: meios de transporte. At this moment we are going to learn about the meals in Portuguese (meals = refeições).

Do you know what is the most popular food in Brazil? The most popular food in Brazil is the "arroz com feijão" (rice and beans). We eat it everyday twice: at lunch and at dinner!

café da manhã: breakfast

almoço: lunch

café da tarde: tea; afternoon snack

jantar (janta): dinner

Observações:

- No Brasil, a principal refeição do dia é o almoço!

- Lanche é uma refeição rápida (lanche = snack).

- Existem verbos que indicam o ato de comer cada uma das refeições:

* tomar café da manhã = eat breakfast (verb)

* almoçar = to lunch (verb)

* tomar café da tarde = take a tea (verb)
